I’m seeing travel size perfumes everywhere at the moment. Why? Well obviously it’s holiday season and, as the name suggests, they’re just the right size to pop in your hand luggage when you’re off on your travels. But I think there’s more to them than that. So why choose a travel size perfume instead of reaching for a full bottle?

What size is a travel perfume?

Containing 7.5ml of Parfum or Eau de Parfum, there are around 75-90 sprays in each of our travel size bottles, so you’re getting 2-3 months of daily wear. That’s an ideal amount if you like to stick to one scent at a time, and perhaps switch it up with the seasons. If you like to have a few different fragrances on the go at the same time your travel size will last a lot longer.

Our travel size perfumes are presented in a slim bottle with an atomiser, just about 10cm long, and they fit perfectly into the palm of your hand. This means they are super easy for spritzing on the go, not just when you’re on holiday but every day.

How much are travel size perfumes?

While, per ml, travel sizes can be more expensive, they’re a great entry point, and a way to really try a fragrance out before investing in a bigger bottle. You can buy three of our travel sizes individually for less than the price of our full 50ml bottles, perfect if you want to try out a few different scents. A single spray on a card in-store never really tells you how a fragrance will behave. Fragrance builds and shifts over hours, and it wears differently depending on your skin, the weather, even your mood that day. A travel size gives you enough to wear it properly, more than once, in different conditions, before you decide whether it’s the one for your dressing table.

Is travel size perfume more expensive, per ml?

While you are getting less product (7.5ml instead of 30ml or 50ml) the cost of the packaging (glass, atomiser, cap, label) isn’t proportionally less. It also takes just as long to fill, cap and label a small bottle as it does a larger one.

There’s another side to the per ml argument too. That calculation only really holds up if you use every last drop of the bottle. If your taste moves on, or a scent doesn’t suit you as well after a few wears as it did on day one, a chunk of a full size bottle can go unused. A travel size means you’re not paying for fragrance you never get round to wearing.

Are travel sizes actually the same product as full size?

Yes. Our travel bottles are hand filled with the exact same product and formula that goes into our full size perfumes. You’re not getting anything different, just a smaller size.
